Who are the two Pokémon in the new loading screen of Pokémon GO? We’ll show you.
In Pokémon GO, the new season “Mighty and Masterful” has begun. Accordingly, a new loading screen has also appeared, which shows up when you start the game.
What does the loading screen show? In the top left corner, we see Fiaro, and in the bottom right corner of the image, a trainer. The entire rest of the screen is filled by two powerful bears. Both share the same name: Wulaosu.
What is Wulaosu? Wulaosu is officially known as the “Kung-Fu Pokémon” and is evidently based on a bear. It has two forms: the focused and the flowing style.
Wulaosu is the evolution of the legendary Pokémon Dakuma, which originally appeared in the DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield. There it joined someone to become a masterful fighter. During this journey, you visit one of two towers, each containing a scroll.

Wulaosu – the bear that destroys shields
Is Wulaosu strong? Absolutely in the main games. This is mainly due to Wulaosu’s special ability: With the ability “Hidden Fist”, it can successfully finish direct attacks even when the opposing Pokémon uses a shield attack. This applies to all attacks that make contact – such as punches, bites, kicks, and so on.
That’s why professionals even relied on the strong Wulaosu during a world championship.
In the main games, Wulaosu’s forms each have a special attack:
- Dark Strike is the attack of the focused style
- Hit Stream is the attack of the flowing style
Additionally, both variants come with a powerful Gigantamax form that goes beyond a normal Dynamax form. We’ve also encountered Gigantamax forms in Pokémon GO that are significantly stronger than the regular Dynamax monsters.
In the Gigantamax form, Wulaosu also has a special attack.
- The focused style uses Giga-Single Strike
- The flowing style masters Giga-Multi Strike
What does this mean for Pokémon GO? That remains to be seen, as it is unclear how exactly Wulaosu will be implemented. What is certain is that the Gigantamax form will eventually become available, and the special attacks are also likely to play a role at some point.
However, the situation is different with abilities: They play no role in GO at first, at least normally. However, it seems that Dakuma and Wulaosu are the stars of the new season. It’s possible that Niantic has thought of something here. After all, there are a few special Pokémon in the game now, such as the form-changing Morpeko.
When will Dakuma arrive? The Pokémon will appear in the game on March 5 and will likely be unlocked through a special research. It is supposed to become your companion in the new season.
