Pokémon GO: Shiny Ditto is now hiding behind other Pokémon – All changes

You want to catch Ditto and Shiny Ditto in Pokémon GO? The Let’s GO event has introduced some exciting changes that you should know about.

What has changed? On March 21 at 10:00 AM, the “Let’s GO” event started in Pokémon GO. This focuses on Meltan and Ditto and will remain active until March 29 at 8:00 PM local time. For you, this means that Ditto and Shiny Ditto are hiding behind different Pokémon than before.

We show you in this brief overview what you need to know about the transforming Pokémon.

Catching Ditto during the “Let’s GO” Event 2023

Which Pokémon is Ditto hiding behind? Before the start of the event, Ditto could still be hiding behind Pokémon like Nebulak or Bidiza. However, since March 21 at 10:00 AM, the transformations have fundamentally changed.

Now the Pokémon is hiding behind disguises of Digda, Sleima, Snubbull, or Krebscorps, which all appear more frequently in the wild during the event. You can see the complete overview of all Ditto disguises here:

How does Ditto make itself known? It’s best to catch the wild Pokémon that we list in our Ditto overview. You won’t be able to tell in the wild whether it is a Ditto or a “real” specimen of the found Pokémon.

If you see an “Oh?” on the screen after catching the Pokémon, once it is secured in the ball, it will transform into Ditto. The chance of encountering Ditto is increased during the Let’s GO event.

How to catch Shiny Ditto? Obtaining a shiny specimen of Ditto is left to chance. However, you don’t have to worry about losing a shiny specimen of another Pokémon through Ditto:

• If you find a shiny Pokémon in the wild of a species that could transform into Ditto, it will not transform into Ditto. You keep the shiny.
• If you find a normal Pokémon (not shiny) in the wild of a species that can transform into Ditto, there is a chance that a shiny Ditto or a normal Ditto is hiding behind it.

In their blog post, Niantic does not state that the chances of shiny Ditto have been increased. So expect the normal odds.
