On the weekend, the Pokémon GO Community Day featuring Galar Zigzagoon took place. However, some trainers had requests for changes – how about you?
What kind of event was it? The Community Day with Galar Zigzagoon took place on Saturday, July 13th. There, you could secure the Pokémon of the day, but also grab some bonuses in terms of XP and Stardust.
Additionally, there was a special task that provided you with some cosmetics in the Barrikadax style.
To collect all of this, it was advantageous to play a large part of the event. However, the three hours of the event fell precisely during the Saturday lunchtime: The Community Day ran from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
And that didn’t make all trainers happy.
Players Suggest New Times for Community Day
What’s the problem? A trainer complained in the Pokémon GO subreddit that three hours is simply not enough for a Community “Day”. He caught over 60 Galar Zigzagoon, but only two were really good and all his Shinies were weak.
He believes a longer time window would be better – especially for players in rural areas with few stops or those who need to work during the event period.
In the comments of the post, players discussed another issue: the heat, which is sometimes very intense, especially during the midday hours.
- “Where I live, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM is the hottest part of the day, and we tell people to stay inside to avoid the heat. I liked it when it was 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and I could play for an hour in the morning before being roasted alive,” writes user “Siroet” (via reddit).
- “Even the game advised me to stay indoors lol. My phone also shut down twice due to the heat. Particularly annoying when I wanted to catch my last possible Shiny,” writes another (via reddit).
- “OMG the same for me. Plus, it’s lunchtime, so a double problem,” finds user susy_blue (via reddit).
- “I’m in Los Angeles. Being outside at noon in August feels like dying” (via reddit).
In Germany, last Saturday, temperatures over 30 degrees were experienced, depending on where you were. Currently, it is very hot and dry in many places.
In the game, you could last receive a weather warning indicating heat. Previously, some trainers had requested changes due to the weather.
Furthermore, the “shortened” 3-hour window of the Community Day is not the first time it has been an issue. Although this event previously began with this duration, Pokémon GO introduced a 6-hour window during the pandemic – a period to which some trainers apparently got used, before it reverted to the 3-hour window in spring 2022.
