In Pokémon GO there is currently a secret event with Kecleon. It has now also started in Germany, but it only lasts a few hours.
Update, December 18, 5:00 PM: The event “Hidden Surprise” has now also started in this country at 5:00 PM. Until 8:00 PM, Kecleon will appear more frequently at PokéStops. Additionally, it will also be a showcase Pokémon that you can have compete against each other in competitions.
The event was not announced, but a corresponding hint was shared earlier by trainers in the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” for Pokémon GO (via reddit), where the event had already started due to time zone differences.
Here continues with the original article.
What kind of event is this? Kecleon is usually very rare and can only be found through indirect means. This Pokémon can camouflage itself and hides on PokéStops. You first have to find it and click on it before it can be caught – it does not simply appear in the wild like other Pokémon. We will show you how to catch Kecleon here.
The surprise variant fits well with the Pokémon: Its original release following a Community Day at the beginning of the year occurred unexpectedly.
Is the Kecleon event in Pokémon GO worth it?
Kecleon is not a particularly powerful monster in Pokémon GO. However, the opportunity to get it with a greater chance should be seized if you do not yet have its Pokédex entry. Catching the camouflaged Pokémon is usually a difficult endeavor.
Especially, the event is worth it for trainers who still have the Masterwork Research of the GO Tour Hoenn open. There, page 3 of the tasks presents the challenge of catching a total of 10 Kecleon. The event should be a very good opportunity to get closer to the rewards from the research.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO otherwise? The year is coming to an end, and accordingly, the typical winter events are taking place in Pokémon GO. Currently, for example, the event “Winter Holidays Part 1” has begun, bringing you the debut of Flaniwal. More events will follow in the coming days: For example, you can look forward to a raid day featuring the new Damythir.
