Last Sunday, Team GO Rocket took over Pokémon GO and occupied almost every PokéStop. It seems that a new event series could emerge from this. Fans praise the takeover.
What kind of event was this? For a full 2 hours, Team GO Rocket ruled in Pokémon GO. Almost every PokéStop was occupied by grunts on Sunday morning, allowing you to receive a Rocket Radar.
In line with this, there were special field research tasks and the conclusion of the Rocket Special Research should have been easier.
Fans praise the event but also have some suggestions on how the takeover could be improved. Such a takeover could lead to a regular event.
Players want monthly takeovers
What the trainers say: The reactions to the event are mostly positive. People enjoyed the variety that such an event brings into the game.
It was especially praised that such an event can be played solo and that players did not need others for battles. It was also appreciated that the special field research tasks were available, allowing players to earn some special candies and stardust.
Many trainers wish for a monthly Rocket takeover, similar to a Community Day. This way, one could always work well on the monthly special research by Giovanni and have a change from the Community Day.
Here are some suggested improvements: Despite the many praises, there are also some suggestions for improvement from players on redditt:
- The takeover should last not 2 hours, but preferably 3 hours
- The battle against the grunts should yield more stardust
- All PokéStops should also feature Rocket grunts (a small number of stops had neither grunts nor bosses)
- The bug in team selection should be fixed, as players often waited 10-20 seconds to select their monsters
Especially the increased stardust would entice many trainers. There were some voices that they did not participate in the event because the rewards were too low. More stardust, however, would draw them out.
