In Pokémon GO the Rocket bosses are now available! After numerous teasers, some players are now finding them in the app. They bring Shiny Shadow Pokémon and also the Unova Stone.
These are the bosses: Last night, some players suddenly found mysterious components and were able to track down the Rocket bosses Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra.
You can challenge the 3 villains just like other Rocket grunts. However, if you defeat them, there are significantly better rewards.
Everything you need to know about the Rocket bosses
Is the release worldwide? Since November 7, the Rocket bosses can be found worldwide. You can attack Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff anywhere.
How do you challenge them? First, you need to search for mysterious components. You get these from battles with regular Rocket grunts. If you find a total of 6 components, you will receive the Rocket Radar.
With this radar, you can then track down the bosses. It works somewhat like a tracker and shows you the position of the boss nearby. You then have to walk there and you can challenge Cliff, Arlo, or Sierra.
How the battle works: The 3 bosses use stronger Pokémon than the regular grunts. You will fight against Pokémon such as Gyarados, Magnezone, Tyranitar, or Dragonite. Monsters like Rattata or Zubat are not found here.
During the battle, the bosses will also use their shields. The battle will be a bit more complex, but if you use the right counters, you shouldn’t have any problems here.
What rewards are there? This is a real highlight, as you can obtain the Unova Stone, which was previously only available through research breakthroughs.
Overall, the rewards are as follows:
- 1000 Stardust
- Additionally, two of the following rewards:
- Max Revive
- Revive
- Max Potion
- Unova Stone
- Sinnoh Stone
Which Shinies are available: In addition to the rewards mentioned above, there is also a Shadow Pokémon to catch as usual. Now, 3 of them can be Shiny. They are the first shiny Shadow Pokémon in the game.
So now there are Shiny Shadow Sneasel, Scyther, and Meowth. It’s worth keeping an eye out for the Rocket bosses if you’re a Shiny hunter.
What you need to consider about the times: The Rocket bosses do not appear to be available day and night. They disappear from 10 PM until 6 AM. During this time, you cannot challenge the bosses.
What you should know: So far, it seems that this is not all that Niantic has planned for Team GO Rocket. A special research has already been announced and also Giovanni is not yet in the game. It remains to be seen what else will happen.
