Pokémon GO introduces a new event, the “Carnival of Love.” We summarize what Pokémon and bonuses are hidden in it here.
When is the event? The Carnival of Love runs from Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM to Thursday, February 15, at 8:00 PM. You have three days to take advantage of the event’s bonuses.
What are the highlights of the event? Much revolves around different forms of Pokémon. For the first time, you can encounter the shiny version of Choreogel. The bird Pokémon comes in different forms, which are regionally bound.
- Choreogel in Flamenco style: Europe, Middle East and Africa
- Choreogel in Cheerleading style: America
- Choreogel in Hula style: African, Asian, Pacific and Caribbean islands
- Choreogel in Buyo style: Asia-Pacific region
Additionally, the Pokémon Flabébé is roaming in its various flower forms in different regions. You can also switch the form of Coiffwaff to the heart-cut form if you spend 25 Coiffwaff candies and 10,000 stardust.
Top Raid with Cupidos: On Wednesday, February 14, the legendary Pokémon Cupidos will appear in Top Raids. These must be completed on-site and are expected to require a lot of trainers to defeat. Moreover, it will only appear at certain times:
- At 12:00 PM
- At 1:00 PM
- At 5:00 PM
- At 6:00 PM
If you defeat the raid, various flying and fairy Pokémon will appear around the gym for 30 minutes. These include Piepi*, Pummeluff*, Snubbull*, Schwalbini*, Fleknoil*, Emolga, Geronimatz*, Dartiri*, Parfi* and Flauschling* (possible shinies are marked with an asterisk*). However, some trainers were unhappy with the timing of the raids.
What bonuses and Pokémon does the “Carnival of Love” bring?
Event bonuses: Two bonuses will be active during the Carnival of Love.
- You have an increased chance for XL candies when you walk with your buddy
- You get two guaranteed XL candies when evolving
Collector Challenge: In a collector challenge, you can encounter Roserade. You will also receive XP and stardust there.
Showcases: Here there is also an unusual requirement: You can have your buddy Pokémon compete. However, they must be at least “Super Buddy”.

In addition, there will be an optional limited-time research available in the shop for one US dollar (expected to be similar in euros). You can receive stardust, XP, two incense, and five encounters with heart-pattern Pandir. However, this research will only run until February 15 at 8:00 PM.
