At the end of the Alola season, there will be a big event in Pokémon GO. It brings 4 special researches, among which you have to choose. There will also be stardust bonuses, new raids, spawns, and eggs.
What kind of event is this? On May 18, Niantic revealed the grand “Alola to Alola” event, just before the conclusion of the Alola season. The event starts in a few days and will be active until the end of the month. In the special research, you can choose between four paths that will bring you different tasks and rewards.

Alola to Alola Event in Pokémon GO
When does it start? The event starts on Wednesday, May 25 at 10:00 AM. It will be active until Tuesday, May 31 at 8:00 PM.
What bonuses are there?
- A collector’s challenge that rewards you with 15,000 XP, 15 Ultra Balls, and a Wuffels
- If you evolve Tragosso* to Alola-Knogga*, it learns the charge attack Shadow Bone (deals 75 damage in trainer battles, 80 damage in raids and gyms)
- Double stardust for opening gifts
- Avatar items in the shop: Bauz backpack, Flamiau backpack, Robball backpack
Spawns: In the wild, you will encounter
- Alola-Rattfratz*
- Tragosso*
- Bauz
- Flamiau
- Robball
- Peppeck
- Mangunior*
- With luck, you might encounter Alola-Mauzi* and Alola-Kokowei*

Raids: In raids during the event time, you will encounter the following bosses:

Eggs: In the 7 km eggs you receive during the event, the following Pokémon can be found:
Field Research: For completing certain field research tasks, you will be rewarded with Pokémon encounters. You can encounter the Pokémon Bauz, Flamiau, Robball, Peppeck or Mangunior*.
The Big Special Research for Alola to Alola
Special Research: If you complete all four exclusive event special researches by June 1 at the latest, you will receive a bonus special research for the conclusion event. We show you here which four special researches are meant. In the new special researches, you choose between the islands Mele-Mele, Akala, Ula-Ula, and Poni. Depending on which island you choose, the tasks and rewards will vary.
You can also purchase tickets for the special research in the shop. They cost about €4.99 (may vary by shop). If you have completed all four special researches and thus unlock the final research, you can still purchase a ticket. This will give you additional rewards.
Special Research Mele-Mele: The tasks revolve around “shared moments,” by sending gifts and taking snapshots. The rewards include:
- Two Knurspe
- One Incense
- Four Lucky Eggs
- An encounter with Alola-Raichu*
- A hat for your avatar that looks like a Choroegel in cheerleading style
Special Research Akala: The tasks revolve around “adventures.” You need to walk a certain number of kilometers and spin PokéStops. The rewards include:
- One incense
- Two incubators
- One Super Incubator
- An encounter with Alola-Knogga*
- A hat for your avatar that looks like a Choroegel in hula style
Special Research Ula-Ula: The tasks revolve around discovering and catching Pokémon. You need to catch a certain number of monsters and make specific throws. The rewards include:
- One Glacier Incense
- One Magnetic Incense
- Four Incense
- An encounter with Alola-Vulpix*
- A hat for your avatar that looks like a Choroegel in flamenco style
Special Research Poni: The tasks revolve around battles. You need to win trainer battles in the GO Battle League and defeat Rocket bosses. The rewards include:
- One Rocket Radar
- Three Star Pieces
- One Premium Battle Pass
- An encounter with Alola-Kokowei*
- A hat for your avatar that looks like a Choroegel in buyo style
