In Pokémon GO, four new Dynamax Pokémon are being added to the game. Here we briefly introduce them to you.
Which new Dyna Pokémon are coming? The next four Dynamax Pokémon will be the Galar starters and one Pokémon that has just had its own Raid Day.
- Scorbunny
- Grookey
- Inteleon
- Legios*
Legios is the only one of the four that can also appear as a Shiny.
When will the Pokémon appear? They will appear on October 1, 2024, in the game. You will encounter them at the power sources found all over the map. Whether they will completely replace Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur, or if these will remain available, is still unclear.
Are the Dyna versions of Grookey, Inteleon, Scorbunny, and Legios worth it?
How strong are the four? Here you will find a brief assessment of the four Pokémon.
- Grookey can evolve into Rillaboom, which has a lot of potential as a Grass attacker. However, it currently lacks a really strong attack like Flora Statue, which it will likely learn at some point during a Community Day.
- Scorbunny will ultimately evolve into Cinderace, which currently also has to take a backseat to other Fire attackers and likely won’t surpass them.
- Inteleon will evolve into its final form, which has the potential to become one of the best Water attackers if it has Hydro Pump. But here too, players will probably have to wait for a Community Day.
- Legios is largely considered a rather weak attacker, as there are better alternatives in the game.
- All four are also considered rather useless in the PvP Combat League.
In short: Based solely on Gym, Raid, and PvP battles, the Pokémon are not incredibly helpful, at least based on the current state. As a Shiny, only Legios can be obtained, so there’s no need to hope for the others.
However: The three starters are particularly interesting because they have a Gigantamax form in the main games. So far, there are no Gigantamax forms in Pokémon GO, but the term has already been mentioned in various places in the game. At least visually, they are expected to come – so keep an eye out.
Additionally, we generally have very few Dynamax Pokémon that can be used in Dyna battles. All trainers will be able to use new reinforcement – and with Legios, we get a Fighting-type monster that might prove important in future Dyna Raids. So this should be grabbed.
What you need to keep in mind during the battle: The three starters should be easy to defeat, as they appear as a level 1 boss in the game. However, Legios comes as a level 3 boss, and based on the battles against Dyna-Tanhel, this won’t be so easy. Here too, Dyna Charizard could again be a good choice – if you can give it a Flying-type attack instead of a Fire-type attack. Then you should have a decent counter that can take on Legios.
