Normally, there is always a specific Pokémon in the research breakthrough, which is exchanged monthly. But since December 2022, things have changed – there are now several options at once. This also applies in February 2023.

When does the breakthrough take place? The research breakthrough started on December 1 at 10:00 PM and runs until March 1, 2023, at 10:00 PM – a total of 3 months. Therefore, it is also active in February 2023.
What’s in the breakthrough? There will be 6 possible Pokémon instead of just one.
They are:
- Galar Pantimos: A rather rare monster that has primarily appeared in the form of event spawns so far. It is said to be able to appear as shiny.
- Botogel: This one doesn’t appear constantly, mostly around Christmas time. Botogel will also be available as shiny.
- Kindwurm: Is no longer so rare, but brings a very strong evolution, Brutalanda, which is among the best attackers in the game , and is always a good catch. It is also available as shiny.
- Kapuno: It has long been one of the rarest monsters, but is now also more common. Still: An exciting catch for everyone who missed the little dragon.
- Coiffwaff: Is also available as shiny and is also something for collectors: Here there are different forms that one can catch from this monster.
- Viscora: Evolves into Voscargot and Viscogon, but is also quite rare and can currently mainly be caught through 10 km eggs. This dragon monster is currently not available as shiny.
The research breakthrough runs in the form of a “lottery”: You randomly get one of these monsters per research breakthrough when you have collected the seven stamps – with no influence on which of the 6 monsters you receive.
