In Pokémon GO there is a compensation event for the GO Fest 2020 in August for 3 hours. However, only those who purchased a ticket for the GO Fest can participate. What bonuses are available during the event?
When does the event take place? On Sunday, August 16, 2020, the compensation event in Pokémon GO will take place. It starts at 11:00 AM local time. From then on, the event lasts for three hours and ends at 2:00 PM local time.
Who can participate? The event is not planned for all players. Only players who purchased a ticket for the Pokémon GO Fest 2020 can participate in the compensation event. Players who participated for free cannot join the compensation event.
Compensation Event – What Bonuses?
This is what happens: The three event hours will be divided into habitat hours, just like you know from the GO Fest. The themes of fire, water, and friendship will be the focus. On August 16, starting at 11:00 AM, the habitat hours will look like this for you:
- From 11:00 AM: Fire
- From 12:00 PM: Water
- From 1:00 PM: Friendship
Additionally, incense will attract Pokémon in the spotlight and lasts for one hour per use. Some Pokémon can only be found by using incense.

If you open gifts from friends during the event, they may contain special candies.
Why is there the event? During the GO Fest 2020, there were technical issues. Trainers reported lags and disconnections. As compensation, Niantic is bringing this three-hour event in August.
But even if you cannot participate in this special event because you didn’t have a ticket, you can still be excited. Now a three-week event marathon in Pokémon GO is starting, which everyone can participate in. Special Pokémon will come to the wild and also into raids.
