References to Generation 4 have been removed from the code of Pokémon GO. Instead, there are these new quests in the game’s code.
Dataminer has news: In the code of Pokémon GO, dataminer Chrales found hints about new research. These could be for the Safari Zone in Japan or future Community Days.
A direct reference to the fourth generation has since been removed from the code again. A break in the hype of the community.
Gen 4 hints were briefly there, now they’re gone again
Recently, the following lines related to Generation 4 were found in the code of Pokémon GO:
“badge_pokedex_entries_gen4_title”
“Sinnoh” “シンオウ” “Sinnoh”
“Sinnoh” “Sinnoh” “Sinnoh”
“신오” “Sinnoh” “Sinnoh”
This caused some players to hype since Sinnoh is the region of Generation 4. The discovery of these code snippets meant for many trainers that a release of Gen 4 is imminent. Hopes were high. Many trainers were already counting on a soon release. Also, because a Gen 4 leak drew attention at the end of July.
Niantic dampens hope: The code has now been removed from the game again. It apparently was released too early.
Now we only know that Niantic is working on Generation 4. Many players have assumed this for a while. However, when the release will come is still unclear. The hope that Gen 4 with new Pokémon is already around the corner has now been dampened.
New Quests in Pokémon GO
Safari Zone in Japan: On August 29, the Safari Zone in Japan begins and runs until Sunday, September 2, Japan time. For this event, Niantic has apparently incorporated new quests into the game. A task line with Professor Willow is also included.
In Yokosuka (Japan), players are to solve a few Safari quests for the professor and will be rewarded with Stardust. This fits well because for completing the worldwide tasks, we will also be rewarded with Stardust bonuses later.
New Field Research: As reported by Chrales, the following quests are now in the network traffic of Pokémon GO. However, it is unclear whether they are related to the Safari Zone.
- Catch X Tanhel
- Catch X Bummelz
- Catch X Trasla
- Earn X Candies by walking with your buddy (already in the game)
- Catch a Rattfratz or Pikachu
The Ho-Oh raid is still active in Pokémon GO, nobody knows why
