Regional Pokémon such as Scyther, Tauros, or Mr. Mime will soon be available to catch at the “Pokémon GO Safari Zone” events in Europe.
In the coming weeks and months, Niantic is planning events in Europe where you can catch the sought-after regional Pokémon. These are usually only available in specific regions of the world, but they will be visiting Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, or France.
We will show you when and where the Safari Zone events take place.
Safari Zone Events – Date
The Safari Zones in the Pokémon games were a popular place. There, players could catch cool Pokémon within a time limit. Now, the Safari Zone returns as a special event in the mobile hit “Pokémon GO”.
The special thing about the “new” Safari Zone is that Pokémon will appear that typically cannot spawn in these locations. Regional Pokémon such as Kangaskhan or Tauros are tied to regions like Australia or North America. In Germany, Mr. Mime was previously the exclusive Pokémon that could not be caught in the USA, for example. You can find an overview of all regional Pokémon here.
To celebrate the first anniversary of Pokémon GO, the developers are organizing special Safari Events. Among other things, you can find special regional Pokémon in Germany. These events will take place in selected shopping centers of Unibail-Rodamco between August and September.
The Safari Zone events will take place on the following days:

In the official announcement from Niantic, it says: All seven Safari Zones offer a wide variety of Pokémon, which were first discovered in the Kanto and Johto regions. This includes some Pokémon that have never been seen in Europe before!
Special Raids at the Events
During these events, there will be even more cool content for you. Trainers participating in the events will join forces to defeat unique and especially strong raid bosses together.
Unfortunately, Niantic has not yet revealed which bosses will be waiting for you there.
