The legendary Pokémon Regigigas remains in the EX Raids of Pokémon GO for now. This is surprising, as it was actually supposed to disappear a few days ago.
So was the plan with Regigigas: At the announcement as a new EX Raid boss, it was stated that Regigigas should stay until January 7. After that, Niantic planned to replace the raid boss.
Three days after January 7, Niantic now speaks up and confirms that Regigigas will stay a bit longer.
Regigigas in EX Raids – Is it worth it?
How long will Regigigas stay? Niantic has not provided any information on this yet. So far, only the developers’ support has commented on the topic via Twitter.
They only stated that Regigigas will stay in the raids longer. They did not specify a timeframe.
Are the raids still worth it? From a purely stats perspective, Regigigas is a really strong Pokémon. Unfortunately, it is only a Normal type and does not have a good moveset. As an all-rounder, it is solid, but Regigigas will probably never be an effective counter against another Pokémon. You can find a detailed analysis of Regigigas’s strength here.
Regigigas is therefore not as rewarding as Mewtwo was, for example. All in all, it is better than Deoxys, but you don’t have to try to include it in every raid.

What’s strange about the EX Raids: The communication between Niantic and the players regarding the EX Raids with Regigigas seems a bit odd.
In general, many players were surprised that Regigigas was supposed to be available only until early January. That would only have been about 3 months, relatively short for an EX Raid boss.
Moreover, Niantic has not commented for days about a potential new boss. After all, players have been asking for a while about what happens after Regigigas. Only now, three days after the actual end, does Niantic come forward and extend the EX Raid boss.
What could come after Regigigas? The list of mysterious Pokémon that could be introduced through EX Raids is long. We have already made speculations for a potential successor before Regigigas.
Hot candidates include Arceus or Shaymin.
