What is a raid hour? The raid hour takes place regularly on Wednesdays in Pokémon GO. During this hour, Level 5 raids appear at nearly all gyms where you can encounter legendary Pokémon.
This week, the raid hour is about the legendary Pokémon Regice. It returned as a raid boss along with the giants Registeel and Regirock at the start of the “Season of Discovery” in Pokémon GO.
Raid Hour with Regice – Information and Counters
When does it start? The raid hour with Regice starts at 6:00 PM local time. You will see black raid eggs over the gyms shortly before, which will hatch at 6:00 PM. At 7:00 PM, it will already be over and the event ends.
These counters you should use: Regice has some weaknesses that you can exploit. It is of the Ice type itself. Therefore, it is logical that Fire attackers have good chances here. But Fighting, Rock, and Steel types can also counter Regice well in the raid.

How many trainers are needed? Regice can be defeated with four trainers using the right counters. If you want to be sure, you should look for raids where more trainers are active – for example, using Remote Raid Passes. You can also invite other players to raids who can then attack with Remote Raid Passes.
Is there a Shiny Registeel? Yes, you can catch all three bosses of the Regi Trio as Shiny. This includes Regice. Starting tomorrow, you can also catch Regigigas in its Shiny variant.
Is the raid worth it? The Regi Trio has visited Pokémon GO several times before. However, if you don’t have any yet and want to complete your PokéDex, you can still go for it. Additionally, Shiny hunters can benefit if they encounter the shiny variant.
In PvP (trainer vs. trainer) and PvE (as raid attackers), Regice has little utility. It generally plays roughly in the midfield. There are many better alternatives to this attacker in Pokémon GO.
