In Pokémon GO today, January 27th, the Raid Hour with Entei starts. We will show you the best counters and tell you whether the event is worth it.
What is a Raid Hour? This event starts every Wednesday in Pokémon GO and allows legendary raids to appear everywhere for one hour. During this time, you can participate in raids actively.
This week, Entei appears in the Raid Hour. The Fire Pokémon from Generation 2 fits perfectly with the Johto Event that is currently running.
Raid Hour with Entei – Counters and Information
When does the Raid Hour start? It starts at 6:00 PM local time. Before that, the black eggs appear on the gyms, which will hatch right on the hour. This affects any gym that does not already host a raid.
Use these counters: Entei is a Fire type, so Water, Ground, and Rock types are effective. You should choose monsters of these types.
| Pokémon | Moves |
| Rhydon | Rock Blast and Stone Edge |
| Kyogre | Waterfall and Surf |
| Rhyperior | Mud-Slap and Rock Wrecker |
| Kingler | Bubble and Crabhammer |
| Swampert | Water Gun and Hydro Cannon |
| Terrakion | Rock Blast and Stone Edge |
| Feraligatr | Water Gun and Hydro Cannon |
| Tyranitar | Rock Blast and Stone Edge |
| Garchomp | Mud Shot and Earthquake |
| Landorus | Rock Slide and Earth Power |
How many trainers should be there? You can defeat Entei with just two players. However, you will need top attackers at least at level 40. We recommend 4-5 participants for the Raid Hour. Many trainers can easily join remotely, so the existing restrictions can still be adhered to.
Is the event worth it? Entei is indeed a strong Fire attacker, but he faces tougher competition like Moltres or Chandelure. So if you’re looking for the best Fire attackers, you don’t necessarily need to secure Entei.
The legendary Pokémon can be Shiny, so you should try to secure a specimen if you don’t already have one.
What’s next? The Johto event is still ongoing in Pokémon GO. Additionally, a quest day with Sneasel is announced for the weekend. You can find all the information here: Pokémon GO starts research day with Sneasel – Could bring many Shinies
