Raids in Pokémon GO are the new cooperative feature where you battle strong raid bosses in trainer groups of up to 20 members. The raid bosses are stronger versions of Pokémon, categorized into different difficulty levels. After a successful battle, you have the chance to catch a raid boss (in a weaker form with less CP).
These raids announce themselves before the start in the form of eggs that appear with a countdown above the corresponding arena. Based on the color of the eggs, you can already find out which Pokémon are eligible as bosses for this raid.
Pink Raid Eggs in Pokémon GO – What’s Inside?
The pink raid eggs indicate that only certain Pokémon can hatch from them. In these pink (normal) eggs, raid bosses of difficulty levels 1 and 2 await you. This means that trainers above level 30 can easily defeat and catch these bosses alone.

Yellow/Golden Raid Eggs in Pokémon GO – What’s Inside?
The Pokémon from the yellow (rare) eggs are all at least one difficulty level higher than the monsters from the pink eggs. The raid bosses from these yellow eggs are mostly not soloable. It is recommended to have at least two or three trainers for the battle, all of whom should have reached at least level 30. For difficulty level 4, you should have even more trainers.
