When does the event take place? As part of the Hyper Bonus in Pokémon GO, the Raid Day with Mega-Lucario will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024. It starts at 11:00 AM and runs until 5:00 PM.
What kind of event is this? During the event, you can encounter Mega-Raids with Mega-Lucario in numerous gyms. If you successfully complete the raid, you will have the chance to catch Lucario in its regular form.
Additionally, depending on the speed of the raids, you will receive Mega Energy for Lucario. With this energy, you can trigger Mega Evolution for Lucario.
Raid Day with Mega-Lucario – Here’s how it works
What bonuses are available during the event? The following bonuses are active during the event:
- Mega-Lucario appears frequently in gyms
- Up to 5 free raid passes when you spin the gyms’ photo discs
- Increased chance of encountering shiny Lucario after a raid
- 1.5 times experience points for raid battles
- Increased chance of XL special candies in on-site raid battles
- Remote raid limit increases to 20 (from July 27, 2024, at 02:00 AM to July 28, 2024, at 05:00 AM)
Is there an exclusive attack? If you catch a Lucario after a raid battle, it will have the exclusive fast move Power Wave
. This move deals 13 damage in trainer battles and 9 damage in gym and raid battles.
How should I approach Raid Day? If you want to make the most of the 5 extra raid passes available during the event, you can proceed as follows:
- Go to a gym and defeat Mega-Lucario
- Spin the gym’s disc to receive a new pass
- Go to the next gym and repeat the process
How do I best defeat Mega-Lucario? The Mega Evolution of Lucario has the same Fighting and Steel types as its regular form. Therefore, Fighting, Ground, and Fire type attacks are very effective when battling against Mega-Lucario.
If you join raids with friends, you should also rely on the team play feature. This way, you can receive an additional boost to your charged attacks.
Is Mega-Lucario worth it? Mega-Lucario is a very powerful monster that can strengthen any team. As a Steel attacker, it will occupy a very high position, while as a Fighting attacker, it will top the list of the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO.
If you want to use Mega-Lucario as a Fighting attacker, you should use the attack combination Counter and Aura Sphere.
