In Pokémon GO the raid day with Mega-Krookodile is coming up. What you should consider during the event and what content is available, we summarize here for you.
When is the raid day? The event with Mega-Krookodile takes place on Saturday, November 11th from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time.
What kind of event is this? The raid day brings the debut of Mega-Krookodile. You can challenge it during the event – it is expected to appear in numerous arenas in the Mega Raids.
If you defeat it, you will receive Mega Energy to perform the Mega Evolution for Krookodile. The faster you are, the more energy you will receive.
How does the raid day with Mega-Krookodile work?
How to get Mega-Krookodile: If you defeat it in the raid, you will not directly receive Mega-Krookodile, but the necessary energy to evolve one of your own Krookodiles. At the end of the raids, you will therefore encounter a regular Krookodile.
How much energy do you need: In total, you need 300 Mega Energy units to perform the evolution for Krookodile.
What bonuses are there? During the event, three bonuses apply:
- There is an increased shiny chance for Krookodile from the raids
- You get 5 additional raid passes from arenas
- The remote raid pass limit is increased to 10 instead of 5

How should I proceed? If you want to make full use of the raid passes, you should ensure that you do at least 6 raids with Mega-Krookodile. Because you always receive the next pass after you have used your last one.
If you add the regular daily pass, you will have six passes for this day. Then the plan should look like this to get the most out:
- Challenge Mega-Krookodile
- Defeat it as quickly as possible
- Spin arena disk after the victory
- Collect new pass this way
- Repeat
How do I defeat Mega-Krookodile the fastest? Krookodile is vulnerable to the types dragon, ice, and fairy, with ice dealing particularly high damage to it.
It is best to use strong counters like Shadow-Mamoswine, Mega-Gardevoir, or Mega-Rayquaza. Also, monsters like Abomasnow, Snorunt, and Mamoswine are worthwhile.
You can defeat Mega-Krookodile with strong counters at high levels already with two or three players. If you want to further increase your chances and play on-site, you should use the team play feature to get another boost to your charge attacks.
Is Mega-Krookodile worth it? Yes, because Mega-Krookodile is one of the absolute top attackers in Pokémon GO. There are few monsters that surpass it in its types, it is basically only behind Proto-Groudon for the ground type and Mega-Rayquaza in terms of dragon.
It is strongest with its special attack “Earth Power” from its community day. However, as of now, it does not learn this if you catch it. If you want to use it, you will likely need a charged TM. But even with “Earthquake” it is already very powerful.
Optional Ticket: In the shop, you can also find an optional ticket for the Krookodile day. It costs 5.99 euros and offers the following content:
- Eight additional passes when spinning arenas
- Increased chance for XL candies from raids
- 50% more XP for raid victories
- Double stardust for raid victories
What you should consider: The eight passes function like the daily passes: You must first use one to get the next one. This means you do not receive them all at once and cannot store them collectively in your item bag. The bonuses from the ticket are available from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so beyond the raid day, but still time-limited. You should keep this in mind.
