In Pokémon GO, the Psychic Spectacular event starting in a few days brings new Pokémon into the game. We show you the start time, bonuses, and the new Pokémon.
What kind of event is this? Psychic Pokémon appear in the wild and raids during the event. Additionally, the developers will unlock a new part of the special research “Misunderstood Mischief” with Hoopa.

Psychic Spectacular – Event in September
When does it start? The event runs from Wednesday, September 8, at 10:00 AM to Monday, September 13, at 8:00 PM. The times refer to local time.
Two new Pokémon: Part of the event is the release of Iscalar and its evolution Calamanero. Iscalar has a special requirement for evolving. Niantic says: “Trainers who have traveled through the Kalos region in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will surely not be spinning in circles!” (via nianticlabs.com).
In the Pokémon games on the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Switch, you had to turn your console upside down to evolve Iscalar. It is likely that it will work similarly in Pokémon GO and that Niantic made the reference to “spinning” for this reason.
Special Research: For the event, there will be additional tasks for the special research “Misunderstood Mischief”. We already know that the Hoopa research will be huge.
Wild spawns: As you know from other events, the spawns in the wild will also change this time. During the Psychic Spectacular, those will be Abra, Traumato, Mollimorba, and Monozyto. With a bit of luck, also Pygraulon and Iscalar, Niantic reveals.
Raid bosses: During the event, you will encounter the following bosses in the arenas:
- Level 1: Sterndu, Palimpalim, Bronzel, Psiau, and Iscalar
- Level 3: Alola-Raichu, Woingenau, Meditalis, and Metagross
- Level 5: Still Lugia
- Mega Raids: Still Lahmus
What else is there? You will receive encounters with Pokémon like Fleknoil or Iscalar as rewards for field research. For snapshots, there is a “surprise” once a day, as Niantic calls it. When spinning stops or opening gifts, you will receive stickers featuring Psychic Pokémon – they are also available in the shop.
