Can an “avid” Pokémon GO fan actually eat these burgers?
The “Pokémon GO” fever sparks the creative side in many fans. Some build portable Pokémon Centers so that several players can charge their smartphones on the go, others even build a huge statue to get a PokéStop in the village. But Pokémon GO is also related to food, as seen in the McDonald’s example. In Sydney, a restaurant now serves “Pokeburgers” that are thematically consistent both in appearance and taste.
A grassy Bulbasaur burger?
On the menu at Hashtag Burgers, you can now find familiar characters from the Pokémon series. There are Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Charmander on the menu. But don’t worry: No Pokémon are killed to make these burgers!
In an interview with Mashable Australia, Ben Kagan from Hashtag Burgers says that the burgers even highlight the different personalities of the Pokémon. “A Charmander burger tastes a bit fiery and has a kind of volcano cheese that drips from the burger. The Bulbasaur burger is grassy and cleaner but tastes similar to a Big Mac. Pikachu is a bit more fun, with our “Tiger Fries” that poke through the burger.”
It seems that the burgers are well received by fans. Within an hour, the special editions were sold out, as a Facebook post from the group reports.
Would you eat such a burger or can’t you bring yourself to bite into a Pokémon?
