In Pokémon GO, two players used the new Dialga effect to extend the adventure smoke to 12 hours and 15 minutes. What was the result?
What is the adventure smoke? Every trainer can use the daily adventure smoke once a day. Special spawns appear for 15 minutes as long as you keep moving.
The “jackpot” here is the legendary Galar versions of Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. However, they are extremely rare and hard to catch. They are known to make trainers despair by rarely appearing and fleeing when encountered.
Now, the smoke became part of an experiment.
What did the experiment look like? The Pokémon GO duo “Grant and Alex” used the new adventure effect of the move “Times Noise” from Origin Dialga for a stream. This new move was already available at the local GO Fest in Los Angeles, and will also be obtainable at the upcoming global GO Fest.
The special thing is that you can also use it outside of battles to extend the duration of items. This applies to adventure smoke and star pieces as well. However, the costs are high: for a 6-minute extension, you need to spend 5,000 stardust and 5 Dialga candies.
Now the duo planned to extend the smoke over 12 hours. This cost a total of 600 Dialga candies and 600,000 stardust.
On X.com, the two emphasized that a star piece was also active during the entire time, so some stardust was collected. In the end, according to “Grant and Alex,” it was more like 340,000 stardust than 600,000.
But what was the ultimate outcome?
How many Pokémon did they catch – What about Galar birds?
This was the result: After extending the adventure smoke 48 times, the two streamers caught a lot of Pokémon. On one account, 1027 monsters were caught that appeared with the smoke, while on the other, 866 Pokémon were caught.
Regarding Galar birds, things looked a bit sparse: Overall, the two encountered the birds 10 times. 7 of those landed on Alex’s account, 3 on Grant’s. However, neither of them caught a single legendary bird, also because they are saving the master ball for other monsters. With regular balls, there was no catching success:
It is still clearly visible: getting the three monsters is extremely difficult. Additionally, the two managed to catch 5 shiny Pokémon.
How do you get the move? To be able to extend items yourself, you need Origin Dialga with Times Noise. This will appear in the raids next weekend when the global Sinnoh Tour is happening – but only during certain time windows. Moreover, Origin Palkia will also appear, which has the move Space Impact that can increase the exploration radius for 10 minutes.
