In Pokémon GO amazing throws yield XP, but are difficult to achieve. A trainer had trouble with this, but solved the problem through crafting.
These are amazing throws: The “amazing throw” is the best throw in Pokémon GO. You earn it when you throw the ball at the exact right timing in the middle of a Pokémon’s catch circle.
Since this is constantly moving and also differs from monster to monster, it’s not that easy.
Why do you want amazing throws? There are several reasons for this. Firstly, there is a decent XP bonus for amazing throws, and secondly, the catch chance of the monster is also higher. Additionally, there are some tasks that require trainers to land many amazing throws, like the Master Ball Challenge.
A trainer on the Pokémon GO subreddit recently came up with a creative idea: The player crafted a small tool to improve their amazing throws.
Crafting for easier amazing throws
What the trainer did: The Reddit user “Sufficient-Piece-OS” shared in a post how he assembled three items from crafting supplies into a kind of tool to achieve more amazing throws.

The user combined a popsicle stick, some tape, and glue pads to create a kind of guide that can be placed on the smartphone. Along this guide, you can then throw the ball to aim as straight as possible. Then you just need the right timing.
The user explains in the comments that they can counteract any shaking in their hands that restricts them during the throws. Only then can they achieve amazing throws.
The reaction to the tool has been positive:

- About 300 comments are currently on the post
- “That’s so smart, my fingers shake and that’s why I usually can’t manage it, I have to do that too,” writes one user (via reddit).
- “Get a Good Buddy Pokémon if you don’t have one yet, it helps with catching. Great trick, I’m glad it works for you,” writes another (via reddit).
At the same time, some players in the comments express admiration that the trainer is achieving amazing throws at all with “straight” throws. Most of them rely on the thrown “curveball,” which also provides a catch bonus.
