Pokémon GO players believe they have found the next raid boss in the new Gen-4 trailer. We present to you the Pokémon that trainers claim to have discovered.
Trailer shows Giratina: If you watch the new Pokémon GO video closely, you can see the two large eyes at the end. These eyes presumably belong to the legendary Pokémon Giratina.
Are we expecting a new raid boss? This is currently being heavily discussed. Could this be a hidden announcement of this new Pokémon?
Legendary Pokémon have all only been unlocked through raids so far. Fans suspect that if Giratina comes, it will be as a raid boss.
What we know about Giratina
Before we discuss the values of the legendary Pokémon, we must emphasize that these values are likely to change again.
Change of values: In addition to the new video, Niantic also announced that they want to adjust the WP, CP, and defensive values. This means that the formulas for calculating these values so far are likely to be invalid soon. Nevertheless, we do not want to withhold you from the previous values.
Two forms: Giratina has two forms. They are called Altered Forme and Origin Forme. When Giratina changes its form, its attack and defense values also change.
Altered Forme
- Max WP: 3965
- Type: Dragon/Ghost
- Attack value: 206
- Defense value: 247
- HP value: 300
- Note: The Altered Forme has a higher defense value. So far, this has not been of great importance for legendary Pokémon.
Origin Forme
- Max WP: 4317
- Type: Dragon/Ghost
- Attack value: 247
- Defense value: 206
- HP value: 300
- Note: The Origin Forme has a higher attack value. Since the attack value conveys more than the defense value in assigning WP, the Origin Forme also has more battle points.
Best Ghost Attacker: No matter the form, with these values, Giratina would be the best ghost attacker in the game.
That’s why Giratina fits – Fan theories
Halloween Event: Niantic hinted at a Halloween event last week. The ghost Pokémon Giratina would be perfect for Halloween.
This is also the view of Reddit user H3nkry. He writes: “Giratina is a Ghost/Dragon type, Mewtwo leaves us on October 23, Halloween event, I say OMG YES!”
Change of values announced: Niantic announced the change of defense and HP values. Since the defense value is particularly important for Giratina’s Altered Forme, it would make sense for the Pokémon to be released alongside this change.
On Reddit, user Caio_Go expresses this and receives a lot of support for this theory. He says that Niantic might only change the values of the Origin Forme. This would mean that this form would lose some WP and would be approximately as strong as the Altered Forme.
No confirmation yet: We will have to wait to see when we will see Giratina in Pokémon GO. Niantic has not yet commented on this Pokémon. The trailer now raises hope in the players.
