In a few days, the Sinnoh event in Pokémon GO will start. One of the announced bonuses is already causing concern among players. What is it about?
This is the event: On the evening of January 7, Niantic announced the next big event for Pokémon GO. The Sinnoh event with Pokémon from Generation 4 will start on January 12. This brings a variety of new spawns, quests, collector tasks, and new raids.
The raids in particular are already causing negative comments. The developers announced that Kaumalat will appear in level-1 raids. Actually, that would be a reason for joy. But in the past, Kaumalat was really rare during such events. And that’s exactly what is now causing concern for trainers. Will it be as rare as in other events?

What many trainers remember is the Dragon Week from August 2020. Niantic announced special event Pokémon like Kapuno and Kaumalat that trainers could find. It was one of the main motivations for the event.
Both species were extremely rare to find during the event. Trainers were bitterly disappointed by the Dragon Week.
“Hopefully not so rare again…”
This is what the trainers say: We looked around on social media and observed how trainers are reacting to the event announcement. While some are looking forward to the content, others are clearly showing their concerns about Kaumalat.

- “Kaumalat will be 100% as rare in raids as it was during the Dragon Week. So almost not at all, if you’re lucky you’ll find one or two in the whole week,” says Julian K.
- “Hopefully, [Kaumalat] won’t be extremely rare in the raids again. Definitely, passes will be used for this,” writes Martin A.
- “And how often will Kaumalat appear? I consider the chances very low,” estimates Benjamin W.
Also on reddit, the event is being discussed.

- User Vlasta1M writes: “Kaumalat in 1-star raids. Maybe in one of 1,000. But still 1,000 times better than in the wild”
This is what the other side says: There are also some trainers who have had a lot of luck in the last weeks or even during the Dragon Week. They managed to secure a few strong Kaumalat and thus are not worried about the Sinnoh event.
