Rayquaza is actually not able to be defeated alone in Pokémon GO. However, a player now shows with a little trick how it can be done (almost solo).
How does the player manage it? The Canadian player “kiengiv” has every combat boost on his side. He starts the raid together with a player who is his “best friend”. This player does not fight but essentially just contributes his combat bonus. This way, the Canadian manages to do it completely alone.
So it’s not a classic solo, but in the video he uploaded, you can see that his teammate does not deal any damage to Rayquaza.
This is how to defeat Rayquaza all by yourself
What do you need for that? In order to defeat Rayquaza alone, you need every possible combat boost on your side. So kiengiv had:
- 6x Mamutel at maximum level
- Snow in the game – weather bonus for Mamutel
- Combat boost from friend levels
This is what the battle looks like: In the video, you can see that the battle runs almost perfectly. Reviving the Pokémon goes extremely quickly, allowing the player to attack rapidly over and over again.
What does his teammate do? The other player just stands with his Pokémon in the fight and does not attack. So he does no damage to the Pokémon.
This is why it works: Rayquaza was considered unbeatable alone. The friendship level is the key here. You receive a 10% damage bonus when fighting together with a best friend. These 10% make the difference here.
Can I do it too? All factors must come together. Especially snow in the game may become difficult by mid-March.
If you fulfill all the things listed above, then you should be able to defeat Rayquaza alone. After all, kiengiv still had 10 seconds remaining. It was not particularly close.
