A player in Pokémon GO took the effort to check how good the Halloween event eggs actually are. He shares his results with the community.
What kind of eggs are these? Currently, the big Halloween 2022 event is ongoing in Pokémon GO, bringing some changes. You’ll find costumed Pokémon, special bosses in raids, special research, time-limited research, and also altered 7 km eggs.
In the eggs, an increased chance for certain shinies was advertised. A trainer wanted to find out what it was all about.
Yield from 128 Halloween eggs
What you need to know: The Halloween event 2022 takes place in two parts. The trainer hatched the 128 eggs in the first part of the event.
In the event’s announcement, Niantic wrote:
Furthermore, you might encounter Shiny eF-eM in Pokémon GO for the first time with some luck. There is an increased chance that a Shiny eF-eM hatches from these eggs.
This is the result: Trainer Goombafk writes on reddit: “From 128 eggs, I hatched 0 shinies and 2 100% Pokémon. These are eF-eM and Golbit.” It is then listed how often each Pokémon hatched from the eggs.
- eF-eM: 32
- Makabaja: 18
- Galar-Makabaja: 43
- Paragoni: 12
- Golbit: 23
As a comment on the yield, Goombafk writes: “Pretty bad idea, I wouldn’t recommend it. But I will try to continue hatching in the second half and see if my luck changes. Also, the incubators were bought before the boxes got so bad.”
How players reacted: The thread gathered over 190 comments in just under 12 hours. One user writes: “Lesson: Eggs are never worth the time, effort, or (especially) the money.” Many other participants agree with this statement with their upvotes.
Another writes: “Thanks for your post. It’s always interesting to see results. And it confirms what the majority here thinks: Hunting shinies in eggs is pointless.”
Have you also hatched some of the Halloween eggs and were you lucky or unlucky? Feel free to share your experiences with us here in the comments. Maybe you were luckier than the trainer and managed to catch a special shiny.
