A player achieved this: Trainer Mickyster used just one Lucky Egg and earned 19.3 million XP in those 30 minutes. The player did not even catch a single Pokémon.
He surpassed his previous record of 16.2 million experience points in 30 minutes. This was only possible with the help of many friends, according to the trainer.

This is how he achieved the goal: In the end, it only works thanks to the friendships. No other action in the game provides as much XP as leveling friendships.
He mentioned that a total of 100 players participated in this action, either opening gifts from him or him opening theirs. In the end, Mickyster also had to open gifts himself to gain XP.
The majority of the XP he receives comes from reaching best friend status. That gives, with a Lucky Egg, a whopping 200,000 XP.
This is what is remarkable about it: A player must collect a total of 20 million XP to reach level 40. Mickyster gathered almost as many XP in just 25 minutes, as his Lucky Egg was still running for 5 minutes “unused”.
It is enormous and shows that one only needs to open and send gifts to gain a lot of experience points. A Pokémon does not even need to be caught for this.
The organizational effort is considerable. A large portion of the 100 players needs to have opened the gifts within the 30 minutes for him to get the XP. The arrangements must have worked particularly well here.
