With Palkia, you are facing a raid boss that is very strong. It is worth completing some raids with the legendary Pokémon. However, some players are complaining that the boss is hard to catch.
Palkia is very far away, and many balls are simply thrown too short. Additionally, the circle is very small, making a good hit even harder.
How to catch Palkia more easily
There is this trick: To prevent Palkia from blocking all your balls, you need to throw exactly when it is performing its attack. The ball will hit the Pokémon right after the attack animation, and it won’t be able to fend off the ball.
Set your circle: To increase the chance of catching Palkia, a great or excellent throw helps. For this, you can set the circle:
- Tap on the ball and hold it down. Keep holding the ball until the circle reaches the optimal size for the throw.
- After that, you can release the ball. Make sure to release the ball at the bottom of the screen. This way, you won’t lose this ball.
- The circle is “set” and will not get smaller or larger as long as you don’t take the ball back in your hand.
- Throw the ball at the moment Palkia performs its attack. You then hit the Pokémon in the set circle as long as your throw reaches it.
This is the problem with Palkia: This legendary Pokémon is so far away. Many balls are simply too short and therefore don’t even reach. To ensure your balls fly that far, you need to utilize the entire screen for the throw. Rotate your ball at the very bottom of the screen and then swipe it across the entire length of the screen and only release it after three-quarters of the screen. This way, your ball flies much further.
This is how you address the problem with the circle: The circle for Palkia is very small. Therefore, it is hard to hit the Pokémon excellently. Aim for a great circle instead if you are not very good at throwing. It is better to hit a Pokémon greatly than to throw beside the circle because it is too small.
