There is a special showcase today in Pokémon GO. We explain how you can win it.
What is a showcase? A showcase is a competition for your Pokémon, without them battling each other. Instead, other characteristics such as size or weight are crucial to win this competition.
Depending on how your Pokémon performs, there are various rewards you can receive here. MeinMMO has already explained how showcases work in Pokémon GO.
Normally, a showcase allows a few different Pokémon species or just a single one to participate. But today there is a very special showcase where virtually any Pokémon can take part.
Any Pokémon is allowed as long as it is a Best Buddy
Which Pokémon are allowed in the showcase? In today’s showcase, all Pokémon are allowed. The only requirement is that the Pokémon you want to participate with has achieved the Best Buddy status. To do this, you need to earn 70 hearts with your Pokémon.
How does the showcase work? The showcase will run only today, on February 14, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. To win the showcase, the size of the Pokémon is decisive. The largest Pokémon wins.
Which Pokémon are best for the showcase? Since the size of the Pokémon is crucial, you should go for Pokémon that are inherently very large. Ideally, the Pokémon also have XXL status. A user on Reddit has published a graphic listing the best Pokémon including their maximum size. The following Pokémon are particularly useful for the showcase:
- Wailord
- Groudon
- Alolan Exeggutor
Other good Pokémon for the showcase include:
- Kingler
- Giratina (Origin Form)
- Steelix
- Onix
- Gyarados
- Milotic
If you have these Pokémon as Best Buddies, you have a good chance of performing well in the showcase.
