In Pokémon GO, some trainers are reporting issues starting the game after an update. We have looked into what this is about and summarized all the information for you.
What happened? Currently, the update 0.215.0 is being rolled out in Pokémon GO. However, like with other updates in the past, some trainers are reporting problems in the game again. We examined what disturbances are occurring.
Problems loading the game
Some trainers are reporting on social networks that they are having trouble loading the game since the update. They open Pokémon GO normally, but the loading bar on the start screen only fills up to about halfway. Then a button appears, through which players are supposed to log out and log back in.
According to a statement by lediath on reddit, this error is often preceded by freezing or hanging of the game (via reddit.com). As a result, Pokémon GO has to be restarted, leading to the described problem. Other trainers confirm this as well.
The reddit user PoGo_Battler writes that this logging in and out happens to him about every 3rd time (via reddit.com). He finds it particularly annoying that after each new login, the AR mode has to be turned off first.
This is one of the settings that reset when logging back into the game and must be disabled again by the trainer. This is particularly irritating, especially if one has to reconnect their account multiple times a day. For this reason, players hope for a quick fix from Niantic.
I have been playing Pokémon GO daily for nearly 2 years and have encountered this described problem during other updates. To avoid having to log out and back in constantly, and to keep my settings intact, I quit the game as soon as the loading screen stops progressing. Afterwards, I also delete Pokémon GO from my list of open apps and then reopen it. Typically, I can then enter the game directly, and all settings remain intact.
Further problems from the update
However, these are not the only reports of issues following the current update. As reddit user Byotan summarizes, there are especially bugs in the representation of certain Pokémon (via reddit.com). For some players, the female Eevee is not shown with the heart on its tail.
Also, other monsters are said to have display errors, such as the Shadow Pokémon from the Kanto region. They are missing the angry eyes. There are also reports regarding Staryu and Xerneas that their colors may have changed due to the update (via reddit.com).
In a post by HungoverHero777 on reddit, it can be seen that the middle circle on Staryu is now red instead of blue.
Are you also affected by the current issues loading Pokémon GO? Or do you have any other errors that have occurred since the update? Please share your experience in the comments and discuss it with other trainers.
