Pokémon GO meets One Piece! A new event starts, where Pikachu wears a new hat and you can change your avatar.
What kind of event is this? This event comes from the cooperation between Pokémon GO and One Piece. They are committed to a reconstruction project in Japan and want to showcase this in Pokémon GO.
Appropriately, Pikachu will wear a new hat. One Piece fans will recognize this hat, as Monkey D. Luffy also wears this hat in the One Piece anime.
One Piece Event in Pokémon GO – All Information
When does the event start? The event starts on July 22. There is no exact time given yet. It will run for a week and end on July 29.
What bonuses are there? During the event period, there are only 2 small bonuses, which are mainly aimed at fans of the series:
- Pikachu with a One Piece straw hat appears more frequently in the wild
- Your avatar can receive matching accessories in the in-game shop
Where does the information come from? The Japanese website of One Piece reported about this first. Afterwards, the Japanese site of Pokémon GO also shared such a report.
Will there be Shiny Pikachu? Nothing is known about that yet. However, it is certainly possible, as the last event Pikachu have all appeared as Shiny.
However, there were also some Pikachu with hats that could not be caught as Shiny. This includes, for example, the Pikachu with straw hat from last summer. So there is no guarantee for the Shiny.
This is also happening in Japan: As part of the event, there will also be special PokéStops in One Piece design in the Kumamoto prefecture in Japan. However, these will not affect us German players.
