In Pokémon GO, it looks like the time has finally come: Lucario is getting its Mega Evolution.
This is happening in Pokémon GO: The big global GO Fest 2024 was just ongoing. Here, players could catch all kinds of Pokémon, encounter Necrozma, perform fusion, and do plenty of other things.
Global challenges were also running again, aimed at unlocking various levels of this year’s Hyper Bonus. Part of this Hyper Bonus is the Mega Raid Day on July 27, 2024.
Up till now, it was unknown which monster would appear there. However, a teaser from Pokémon GO now shows that the long-awaited debut of Mega Lucario could take place.
Mega Lucario is finally coming to Pokémon GO
On x.com, Pokémon GO shared an image in a post focusing on the Mega Raid Day. Here, Lucario is clearly hinted at, after previously teasing Shiny Togedamaru and the debut of the mouse Pokémon Famieps for other parts of the Hyper Bonus:
It seems that the time has finally come. And it’s about time, as Mega Lucario was first spotted in the artwork for Pokémon GO’s 4th anniversary – that was in 2020.
How strong is Mega Lucario? Very strong. Because one must consider: Normal Lucario is already one of the best and most popular Pokémon in the game. To this day, it is the best fighting attacker among “normal” Pokémon, meaning without Mega, Crypto, and legendary Pokémon.
Lucario also proves to be a good choice in battles against Team Rocket or when taking over gyms. The Mega Evolution is likely to catapult it to the top place among fighting attackers, surpassing Mega Scizor.
How will the Raid Day go? It is assumed that throughout the day, we will see Mega Raids featuring Mega Lucario that must be defeated as quickly as possible to earn as much Mega Energy as possible from them.
Once you have gathered the necessary energy, you can perform the Mega Evolution for Lucario.
