In Pokémon GO many trainers use raids to secure legendary monsters. Now, surprisingly, there is finally a new feature that could make this even easier soon. We at MeinMMO show you what it is.
What are Raids? In Pokémon GO, you can not only catch monsters in the wild but also face different bosses in raids, which you can secure for yourself after a successful battle. Especially the legendary Pokémon from level 5 raids are highly sought after by trainers.
Often, these cannot be managed alone, and therefore you need proper support from other players in battle. Now, Niantic has surprisingly introduced a new feature that could make it easier to defeat these bosses in the future.

New raid feature now allows you to invite more trainers
Until now, after entering the lobby, you could invite up to 5 of your friends to this raid to get support from them. However, the invited trainers did not always join the battle, which could mean several attempts before achieving the required number of participants for the raid. However, this should become easier now.
What is now different? As reddit user JRE47 shows in his video, you can now invite more than 5 people to a raid. He invites 5 friends as usual. After a waiting period of about 30 seconds, the invite button turns green again, and he can invite more trainers.
The previously invited players remain grayed out and therefore cannot be selected again. He repeats this process several times. He writes (via reddit.com): “I can invite friends to the raid every 30 seconds.”
What some trainers initially consider a bug and assume this might change soon seems to be intentional by Niantic. Looking into the help function from support, you can find the following note in the explanations regarding the invite function:
Keep in mind that the number of trainers who can participate in a raid is limited, and this limit also applies to invited friends. You can only invite up to 5 friends at the same time, but after a short cooldown period, you can invite more friends to the same lobby if you want.

This describes quite well what can be seen in the video of JRE47, which is why it is assumed that the new feature is likely not a bug.

What does the change mean for trainers? With the new feature, trainers finally have the opportunity to invite more players to this raid after a short waiting period. This is especially helpful when there are not enough participants to complete the raid smoothly.
Until now, trainers coped by leaving the lobby after inviting the first group, rejoining the raid, and resetting the invite button to select more friends. Alternatively, some players would also jump out of the lobby shortly before the start if they felt the group size was too small, only to re-invite again. This often led to frustration.
Now, you can easily invite more players after just a few seconds. With a little luck, you may generate enough participants for the raid this way. In this way, more trainers also have the chance to participate in one of these raids with popular monsters, as more players receive an invitation.

In the community, the new feature is particularly well received, as there has been criticism from some players over the years that every trainer could only invite 5 friends to a raid.
Many trainers see a significant advantage in that they no longer have to leave the lobby to invite more players, even though this takes a bit longer due to the 30-second cooldown.
As more invitations can be sent, there may also be more players to support in the raid. However, some still have concerns that this is just a bug and that it might disappear again soon. One can read the following on reddit:

Can more trainers also participate via remote raid? In the comments, the question often arises whether the maximum number of participants in remote raids has changed as well. This is not officially known yet. So far, up to 20 trainers could be in the same raid lobby at the same time, of which only up to 10 players could use a remote raid pass.
However, according to some trainers, there have already been reports that players could invite up to 15 friends with remote raid passes (via reddit.com). To what extent this is true remains to be seen. Should there be new information on this, you will find it here on MeinMMO.
