Who wants to become the very best Pokémon GO trainer must fill their PokéDex. Right now, it’s the best time to catch all monsters from the 1st generation without having to travel around the world.
One of the biggest goals in Pokémon GO is to complete your PokéDex. This is that little electronic helper that records which monsters you have seen and which you have caught.
Event for collectors: Rare monsters are frequently appearing in Pokémon GO that are usually hard to find. This is probably the last chance to easily complete your Kanto PokéDex.
Rare Monsters in the Wild
Trainers have been reporting for days that it has never been easier to catch rare monsters. In the wild, monsters like the fighters Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are suddenly appearing more often. Even Lapras and Chansey are showing up more frequently.
Chance in Raids: The raid bosses have been mixed up. You can still meet the legendary birds Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos there for a few more hours. Even in their special shiny form. We have an overview of the new raid bosses in Pokémon GO here for you.
Regional Monsters in Germany: Thanks to the 7KM eggs you receive from gifts from friends, there are now also regional monsters in Germany. You would normally have to visit other regions, i.e. continents, to catch these species. These monsters are now hatching from the 7KM eggs.
Mewtwo comes for everyone: Normally, Mewtwo can only be found in EX Raids, which trainers must be invited to. From September 20th, however, Mewtwo will appear in “normal” raids. Then all trainers who defeat it will have the chance to catch Mewtwo.
The message is clear: The developers at Niantic couldn’t be clearer: We want you to have the complete 1st generation in the PokéDex.
Completing the PokéDex Was Complicated Before
Even before the Ultra Event, it was possible to complete your PokéDex. When Mew came to Pokémon GO, the last entry was thus released. However, you had to be lucky with an EX Raid invitation and visit Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia to collect all monsters. With events, Niantic has already brought regional monsters to Germany.
Niantic wants to help trainers: Through the Ultra Event, Niantic wants to help trainers who cannot travel around the world to catch regional monsters. The legendary birds and Mewtwo in raids can be caught by any trainer who teams up with friends or local raid groups. An easy way to get the sought-after monsters.
What’s Next?
It’s quite possible that Niantic will use this event for one last big surge of Kanto Pokémon and scale down events for Gen 1 in the future.
Many Events in the Past: In the last few months, there have been more frequent events with Kanto Pokémon. For example, the Kanto Event in April or the Community Days with Dratini or the starters.
Future events in Pokémon GO may develop more in the direction of Generation 2 to complete the PokéDex of the Johto region next.
If you haven’t completed your Kanto PokéDex yet, the next few days are the best opportunity to fill it. How full is your PokéDex?
