Pokémon GO now offers its own web store outside of the game. What is different?
What kind of store is this? Until now, one could only use a store within the game itself, but now there is also an external version.
On the official Pokémon GO website, there is now also a store outside of the game. Here is the link to the store at pokemongolive, if you want to take a look.
Is the store available in Germany? Not completely yet. You can access a German version of the store through the link, but purchases are not yet enabled there.
If you click on one of the offers, the message appears: “Available soon. It is currently not possible to make purchases in this region. This may change in the future.”
So anyone wanting to use the store in Germany will have to wait.
What is in the new web store of Pokémon GO?
According to “Pokémon GO Hub“, the store is currently active in Australia, Norway, and Singapore. Users can already make purchases there.
Currently, four PokéCoin bundles are available in the store. The special thing: depending on the bundle, you get a few extra PokéCoins on top.
The four bundles are as follows:
- 1,200 PokéCoins (+ 60 bonus)
- 2,500 PokéCoins (+ 150 bonus)
- 5,200 PokéCoins (+ 350 bonus)
- 14,500 PokéCoins (+ 1,000 bonus)
Whether more items and offers will be added over time is currently unknown.
Are the offers worth it? This remains to be seen until the prices in the German store are known. However, users from Australia in the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” point out that currently the 100-coin option in the game is still cheaper for them compared to the new bundles (via reddit).
How prices will shape up here and whether the offers will be worth it remains unknown at this time. As soon as the store is available in Germany, we will keep you updated here.
However, there are also other ways to get coins in Pokémon GO. You can still get them as usual by defending gyms; a purchase in the store is not necessary to obtain coins. However, the limit from gyms is 50 coins per day.
