You can now download and use the App Campfire
to better organize raids in Pokémon GO. All information about the app.
What kind of app is this? Campfire is an app from Niantic designed to help trainers better connect in Pokémon GO (and other Niantic games). It features a raid finder as well as a chat function.
The app has been available in various parts of the world for some trainer groups, but the global launch has now been completed.
Campfire Download: You can find the app as usual in the stores of your respective devices.
We will briefly introduce what the app offers.
What the Campfire App Can Do in Pokémon GO
How to use the app: You open the app via the normal app icon, or directly in Pokémon GO via the new button on the right side.
Currently, there are various features in the app that you can use to connect with other trainers.
Overview: In Campfire, you can use the raid map. Here you will find a detailed map where arenas and active raids in Pokémon GO are displayed. This gives you a quick overview of where potentially interesting raid bosses are for you.
Groups: Local communities are displayed that you can join, called “groups.” There you will find various chat channels where you can exchange ideas with each other. However, some testers experienced issues with chats.
Set signals: If you are interested in a raid or are near an arena, you can click here and set a “signal” to inform other players that you would like to participate. A local chat is also possible here for coordination.
Alliances: With this function, you can host a raid or join a raid. To host a raid, you need to be near a corresponding raid. Other players looking for a group can then join you if you send them friend requests. This works through corresponding requests in the app.
If you want to join a raid, it doesn’t matter where you are. This is even possible via remote raids and is similar to apps like PokeGenie. Campfire will then search for raid groups for you. After a certain waiting period, you can join a raid that interests you.
Overall, Campfire is meant to help find local communities in Pokémon GO and enable better completion of raids. Niantic is placing an increased emphasis on enhancing gameplay in the “real world” this year. A developer commented on this in an interview regarding Pokémon GO. .
