The Nostalgia Challenge 2020 with Mewtwo in Pokémon GO has been unlocked. We show you what the new special research offers in tasks and rewards.
What is it? The Nostalgia research Kanto is part of the big May event that Pokémon GO is launching. The Kanto research is the first part of the quests. Then there will be Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh.
What happened before? On the evening of April 27th, Niantic released the new special research “Nostalgia Challenge”. However, this was not unlocked for all trainers. If you did not unlock the research, it is not your fault. You just need a bit more patience.
Niantic wrote on Twitter that the research was unlocked for some trainers before the actual start. “Event details will follow soon. In the meantime, trainers who received the research can complete it. However, they will not receive it again. Sorry for the confusion.”
We will show you the individual steps, tasks, and rewards of the new special research “Nostalgia Challenge”.
Kanto Challenge 2020 – Step 1/9

Stage Reward: As you already know from other special researches, you simply collect the rewards in the last step without a task.
As a stage reward, you will receive 10 Rare Candies and an encounter with Mewtwo. As trainers have already discovered, this Mewtwo knows the move Psystrike.
Additionally, you can now play Pokémon GO even more effectively from home. The developers at Niantic have now activated Raids from home, which you can join with special raid passes. Along with the new research that can also be easily solved from home, you will be well occupied for the event.
