In Pokémon GO, you can now rate and approve PokéStops of other players. Niantic Wayfarer is live in Germany and allows you to perform this action.
What is Niantic Wayfarer? This feature is intended for rating interesting locations. If a location is deemed suitable, it will be added to Niantic’s games as PokéStops or portals.
You can now not only submit PokéStops but also evaluate the suggestions of other players. Until now, this was only available to Ingress players. Niantic Wayfarer was announced a few days ago.
How to use Niantic Wayfarer
Who is eligible? Currently, this feature seems to be live only in Germany. Countries like Switzerland or Austria cannot submit PokéStops yet.
You must be at level 40 in Pokémon GO to access Niantic Wayfarer.
How can you rate stops? You need to go to the Niantic Wayfarer website. There you can log in via Facebook or Google and start evaluating.
First, you need to complete a small test to ensure you are suitable testers. Look closely at whether the suggested PokéStops are appropriate. Only after passing the test can you continue with the actual evaluation.
Niantic will then show you suggestions from other players. Here you can see the image, the text, and additional information. You can also check if the same PokéStop is already nearby.
You cannot do this: The suggestions come from all over Germany. You cannot just approve PokéStops from your city.
You can also have insight here: In the left sidebar of Niantic Wayfarer, you can also view your suggested stops. You can see whether they are confirmed, rejected, or still under evaluation.
This is why the feature is so good: Niantic Wayfarer should significantly speed up the evaluation of PokéStops. Until now, only Ingress players were allowed to evaluate, which was a very small part of the community.
Now the trainers of Pokémon GO can also evaluate suggestions, allowing for much quicker results.
