Pokémon GO has a new item: the “daily adventure incense,” which also comes with a small special research. What makes the new incense special, we will show you here.
What kind of item is this? The “Daily Adventure Incense” works similarly to the regular incense: you can click on it to attract monsters for a certain time. However, the new item has a few peculiarities.
- You get the adventure incense once a day and can only keep one at a time.
- The adventure incense lasts only 15 minutes and works only while walking, meaning in motion.
- With the adventure incense, it is said according to the announcement that you can “possibly meet Pokémon that are otherwise rarely found in the wild.”
- You cannot activate regular incense when the adventure incense is active (and vice versa).
- If you have fewer than 30 Poké Balls (or other balls), you will receive 30 additional Poké Balls when you activate the adventure incense.
- At the end of the 15 minutes, you will receive a small overview showing which monsters you caught during that time.
- Especially in rural areas, the incense is said to help with catching – that should be a welcome change.

When is the item available? The daily adventure incense was introduced and launched on the night of July 26, 2022. It will be rolled out gradually to all trainers in the game over the course of this week – so don’t be surprised if you can’t see it yet.
But if you are among the players, you can already use the daily adventure incense. There is only one requirement: you must complete the associated special research. You can find more information below.
Which monsters spawn with the adventure incense?
Trainers report on spawns: In the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad,” players are already collecting which spawns can appear with the adventure incense (via reddit). The pool of spawns seems to be very, very large and includes pretty much everything, including “ordinary” monsters.
However, there are also special spawns reported by trainers. These include evolutions like Luxray, Gengar, Charizard, or Altaria, but also unusual spawns like Spoink, Swablu, Trubbish, or Rockruff.
Most interesting are the reports that the three new Galar versions of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres can spawn with the adventure incense. They had not been in the game before but are now reportedly being encountered by several players in the wild.
This is the challenge: All three legendary Galar birds apparently have a very low catch rate and at the same time a high flee rate. Accordingly, it can happen quite easily that you encounter the monsters, but you will need a lot of luck to catch them, and in the worst case, they may flee.
It may be worth trying with Razz Berries and Golden Razz Berries and throwing strong curveballs to increase your chances.
What spawns do you encounter with the adventure incense? Let us know in the comments! But to get started, you must complete the special research.
