How long is the code valid? Redeem this code quickly in Pokémon GO and collect the items. It is unclear how long the code will remain active, so better hurry and don’t put it off for long.
Update from January 7 at 4:53 PM: First trainers report that they cannot redeem the code. Niantic may have deactivated it. About half an hour after the article was published, the code was deactivated. It is unclear whether it will be reactivated.
What does the code bring? After redeeming, you will receive an incense and 30 Poké Balls. In total, you will receive 31 items. As with the last promo codes, Niantic is relying on these items so you can lure and catch many Pokémon now.
How to redeem promo codes in Pokémon GO on Android and iOS
While Android users can easily redeem codes in the game, iOS users have to go through an external website.
Android: Android users open Pokémon GO and navigate to the shop. Scroll all the way down and you will find the field for “Promos.” Tap on it, copy the code there and confirm the selection. Make sure that you haven’t copied any spaces. Afterwards, the items will land directly in your inventory.
iOS: On iOS devices, entering in the shop is not possible, the corresponding field does not exist at all. Instead, you have to visit Niantic’s rewards website. You can find the link here: Redeem promo code (via rewards.nianticlabs.com). With this link, you should be able to redeem the code immediately without entering it separately.
Log in here with your linked account. Then you can enter and confirm the code. Afterwards, the items will be credited to you in the game. For safety, you can check this in your game diary.
