The Halloween event 2020 is just around the corner in Pokémon GO and could also bring first Pokémon from Generation 6. We show you the possible candidates for it.
What speaks for new Pokémon? Halloween is usually one of the biggest events of the year in Pokémon GO. Since 2017, the Ghost Pokémon of a generation have been introduced every year:
- In 2017, Shuppet, Zwirrlicht, and Zobiris were introduced
- In 2018, Driftlon, Skunkapuh, Kryppuk, and Giratina joined
- In 2019, Darkrai and Makabaja were introduced for the first time
The Halloween event 2020 has already been announced, but it only stated that Ghost Pokémon would appear more frequently. Which ghosts are meant is unclear.
So we could also expect new Pokémon in 2020. Galar-Makabaja has already been announced, but also first Pokémon from Gen 6 are conceivable. After all, this generation was teased for the first time months ago.
Here we show you some candidates that one might expect this year. However, keep in mind that these are just speculations.
Zorua and Zoroark
What kind of Pokémon are these? These Pokémon do not come from Gen 6, but from Generation 5. So far, they have not yet found their way into the game – Halloween would be a good start.
Zoroark is actually quite a useful Pokémon. It only reaches 2571 CP, but has a solid attack value of 250. As an alternative among the Dark-type attackers, it is therefore not to be underestimated.
What speaks for a release at Halloween? Zorua and Zoroark are Dark types and do not look very scary at first glance. However, in 2018, Skunkapuh also made its way into the game through Halloween, and that monster does not exactly radiate much terror either.
Additionally, in October, Dark-type Pokémon were introduced through the Curiosity Eggs. Zorua and Zoroark were not among them. They might have been saved for the Halloween event.
Quabbel and Apoquallyp
What kind of Pokémon are these? These monsters also come from Generation 5 and are the only Ghost Pokémon from the Unova region that are still not in the game.
However, these monsters are not really useful. Apoquallyp can reach a maximum of 2338 CP and is also not useful in the PvP league.
What speaks for a release at Halloween? They are Ghost Pokémon and they are still missing. Just this should be enough to consider them as strong candidates.
However, it must also be said that they could have actually been introduced in 2019 for Halloween. That did not happen. Maybe Niantic has something completely different in mind here.
Paragoni and Trombork
What kind of Pokémon are these? These two Pokémon come from Gen 6 and are of the types Ghost and Grass.
However, Trombork is not really useful. It only reaches 2559 CP and has a weak attack value.
What speaks for a release at Halloween? They are perfect Pokémon for Halloween. They look spooky and would be a perfect entry into Generation 6. There is nothing against a later release.
Gramokles, Duokles and Durengard
What kind of Pokémon are these? These Pokémon from Generation 6 are of the Steel and Ghost types. They look like swords with a creepy look.
Durengard appears in 2 different forms: the Sword form and the Shield form. Both forms are exciting. The Sword form has an attack value of 291, but only a defense value of 97. In the Shield form, it is exactly the opposite. Therefore, this monster should be remembered for raids, but also for the PvP league.
What speaks for a release at Halloween? At first glance, Gramokles does not really look spooky, but it belongs to the Ghosts from Gen 6. A release would therefore fit, even if there are more suitable Pokémon.
Irrbis and Pumpdjinn
What kind of Pokémon are these? The monsters are of the Grass and Ghost types and look like pumpkins with spooky faces.
These Pokémon also do not become really strong. A maximum of 2633 CP and a weak attack value mean that you rather need Irrbis and Pumpdjinn only as a Dex entry and nothing more.
What speaks for a release at Halloween? Nothing connects more with Halloween than carved pumpkins. Just like that, Irrbis and Pumpdjinn look. They would fit perfectly.
Besides the new Pokémon, Halloween could also generally be a real highlight:
That’s why the Halloween event could be the highlight of 2020
