Every now and then, data miners uncover new information about Pokémon GO that hints at new content in the future. Now, such a find apparently includes an interesting quest.
What is this leak about? The leak comes from the PokeMiners, who have reliably extracted information from the game’s code in the past.
Their latest find was shared on the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad” (via reddit).
There are 3 new quest branches visible there. They are called:
- gl_branch_quest_drapion
- gl_branch_quest_jellicent
- gl_branch_quest_stunfisk
What kind of new quest will this be?
What could the quest be about? It seems to involve a three-part quest where you have to choose a path. Similar examples are already known from the GO Fest.
“Drapion”, “Jellicent”, and “Stunfisk” are the English names of three Pokémon that are particularly popular in the PvP league:
- Piondragi
- Apoquallyp
- Flunschlik
The images show that this will be Galar-Flunschlik. It is currently available from the research breakthrough.
Additionally, each quest name contains the abbreviation “GL”, which is commonly used in the Pokémon GO context for “Great League”.
It is therefore likely that the quest is related to the PvP league.
When will this quest come? So far, nothing official is known regarding the date, and more specific content is still unclear. However, the quest would fit well with two different events in August:
- Between August 17 and 24, the Super League including a battle cup will take place in PvP
- On the other hand, between August 18 and 23, the event for the Pokémon World Championships 2022, i.e. the World Championship, will be held.
It is conceivable that this quest is planned for that period. However, it should be noted that this is just a leak and nothing official. It is possible that this content could appear in a completely different form or may not appear in the game at all.
If they do make it into the game and potentially bring along the Pokémon from the 3 quest paths, this might be a good opportunity to secure a good specimen of the strong PvP monsters.
What do you think about this? Do you have any use for a PvP quest or are you anyway avoiding the battle league? Let us know in the comments!
Are you more a fan of raids? Then the weekly raid hours might be more for you – such as with the legendary Pokémon Palkia.
