In Pokémon GO there is a new EX Raid Boss. The event form of Deoxys is waiting for you. But will Deoxys finally be useful?
Changes to EX Raids: Starting tomorrow, June 23, the new form of Deoxys will be available in EX Raids. In return, the defense form will disappear from the special raids.
With the event form, the last missing form of Deoxys comes into play. If they don’t rotate the forms again after this, there will likely be a new Pokémon as EX Raid Boss.
Event form of Deoxys – What can it do?
How strong will this form be? Overall, the event form has stats that are significantly better than the defense form, but it’s still not very useful:
- Attack: 230
- Defense: 218
- HP: 137
- Max CP: 2879 CP
This Deoxys form has relatively balanced stats. Being a Psychic type, it has a competitor in Mewtwo that is significantly better. Other Psychic Pokémon are also much stronger.
Is this Deoxys needed? The event form of Deoxys is not really strong. The Pokédex entry is a nice addition, but not much more.
What is good against Deoxys? The weaknesses of the mysterious Pokémon are Bug, Ghost, and Dark. The best counters are Gengar, Giratina, and Tyranitar.
How many players are needed? This form can be defeated fairly well with 3 players. Use the right counters and you won’t have any problems in a 3-player team.

How long will it stay an EX Raid Boss? Deoxys is likely to remain in the raids for about 3 months. So far, every previous form has stayed in the game for that long.
If this is the case, then a new EX Raid Boss is expected in September. Many players hope for Darkrai or Arceus, as they are also mysterious Pokémon.
Will Deoxys return? If someone is missing a form, it may currently be difficult to obtain that form. Deoxys cannot be traded and there is always only one form in the raids.
Some players speculate that Deoxys may return as an Ultra Bonus in regular raids after summer. This remains to be seen.
For July and August, there are also new research breakthroughs. 4 Shinies are waiting for you:
