Big advantage for trainers: This way, you can easily hatch eggs and collect candies with buddy Pokémon without actively using Pokémon GO.
Adventure Sync in Pokémon GO – How does it work?
Here’s what the feature is about: Niantic has now introduced the new fitness feature in Pokémon GO. Why fitness? The function measures your distance traveled per week and then rewards you for it. So, the more you walk, the more you can achieve in the game and stay fit.
How does it work? The Adventure Sync feature operates in the background. Even when the Pokémon GO app is not open.
Weekly reports: Each week, the feature provides you with a report that gives you an overview of your progress in hatching, candies found, and important statistics such as calories burned or steps taken.
Where can you see the distance traveled? Through your trainer profile, you can check how many kilometers you walked in the last week.
Are there rewards? Yes, likely. For achieved milestones, you will be rewarded in Pokémon GO. In a datamine a few weeks ago, it was already found out that the distances are at 1KM, 2KM, and 3KM. The distances could still change.
How exactly these rewards will look is unclear. They could be items or encounters with Pokémon. Similar to field research in Pokémon GO.
How to activate Adventure Sync?
To use the new feature, you need to connect with health apps. This works on Android and iOS.
- iOS: When you activate the feature in Pokémon GO, it connects to the Health app.
- Android: The feature from Pokémon GO connects with Google Fit.
It seems that you don’t need any extra device for this. The Health app from Apple and the Google Fit app on Android will then synchronize the data with Pokémon GO.
When will the feature be released? When the release for the fitness feature is, is still unclear. Niantic has only said “soon” so far.
