Developer Niantic talks about upcoming changes in Pokémon GO!
While Pokémon GO is still a relatively young game, the developers already give us a glimpse of what to expect in the game soon. In Germany, Pokémon GO is officially not available yet, but can only be obtained on Android with an APK trick and on iOS by changing the Apple ID. Soon, one of the core features from the Pokémon games will be integrated into the current mobile part of the series.

Trading System and Changes to PokéStops and Gyms
One essential feature that characterized the early Pokémon games is still missing in Pokémon GO – The trading of Pokémon! In the past, you would meet up with friends and needed a link cable to connect the two Gameboys. John Hanke, the CEO of Niantic, said to Business Insider that it is “a kind of core element” and will be integrated into the game in the future. Trading is a logical extension for Pokémon GO. Then, there is another element in the game that connects players (this time probably without cables).
Hanke also stated that there will be improvements for PokéStops and Gyms, as these objects are currently “just the basic version”. In a new update, there will be more features with these objects. There will also be a global leaderboard system showing the best Pokémon trainers in the world. Improvements to the augmented reality system are to be made, and even a “Pokémon GO” version specifically for AR devices like Microsoft’s HoloLens is something the Niantic CEO is not against “It might be fun to use this system for that”.
