Now there are new nests! A nest migration in Pokémon GO changes the Pokémon species that appear in nests in your area and in parks.
Nests in Pokémon GO are locations where Pokémon of the same species frequently appear. You have probably noticed that you can find the same Pokémon in one place for several days. During a nest migration, the locations remain the same, but the monsters that appear there change.
Every few weeks, such a change occurs, bringing fresh air to the Pokémon wilderness.
Pokémon GO Nests
You can often find nests at PokéStops, Gyms, or in parks. They often offer a high number of the same Pokémon species. The monsters will stay at this location for about two weeks until they change their location due to a nest migration.
Niantic announces this via push notification for Pokémon GO, stating that new monsters are residing in the parks around you. It is worth heading out and checking. Perhaps there is an interesting nest in your area.
However, particularly rare monsters, such as those from 10km eggs, cannot be found in nests. Baby Pokémon or legendary Pokémon cannot appear there either.
Today, on September 21st, the 30th nest migration in Pokémon GO took place. The Pokémon collections at known spots have changed and should now show you new Pokémon. If you still miss certain Pokémon (candies), the nest migration might bring you luck, and you can find them frequently now.
The nest migration is also important for medal collectors: With the new Pokémon, there may also be new “types” in your area. This gives trainers a chance to improve their progress in medals like “Bug Collector”, “Bird Catcher”, or “Psychic”.

Solstice Event is on its way
You can take advantage of the nest migration in the coming days and earn a lot of Stardust in the new nests. The reason for this is the Solstice Event in Pokémon GO, which rewards you with double the amount of Stardust when catching monsters or hatching eggs.
