Pokémon GO has revealed the fusion for Necrozma. And it looks like we are getting a new top Pokémon here.
This is Necrozma: Necrozma was announced as one of the highlights for this year’s GO Fest in Pokémon GO. It will appear for the first time at the local GO Fests in Sendai, Madrid, and New York, and then on July 13 and 14 at the global GO Fest for everyone.
Necrozma is firmly tied to the Ultra Beasts in Pokémon history, which are currently roaming through Pokémon GO again. It also has a special connection to the legendary Pokémon Solgaleo and Lunala.
Because with these two monsters, Necrozma can fuse. This mechanic has now also been officially introduced for Pokémon GO. And data miners show: The fusion will create two really formidable fighters.
How fusion works in Pokémon GO
What kind of monsters will come out? If you fuse Necrozma with Lunala, you will get Necrozma in its Dusk Mane form. The fusion with Solgaleo, on the other hand, creates the Dawn Wings form. This is what they look like:
How does the fusion work? You need either Lunar Fusion Energy or Solar Fusion Energy, depending on the form for the fusion. These will first be available during the special research at the local GO Fests 2024, if you have a ticket for the event.
Thus, players at the live events can be the first to fuse Necrozma with Lunala or Solgaleo. All other players should be able to catch up on the second day of the global GO Fest 2024. There, you will receive fusion energy by defeating the fused forms of Necrozma in raids.
However, this is not all you need. In addition to the two Pokémon for the fusion, you need the following items:
- For the Solgaleo fusion, you need 1,000 Solar Fusion Energy, 30 Necrozma Candies, and 30 Cosmog Candies
- For the Lunala fusion, you need 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy, as well as 30 Necrozma Candies and 30 Cosmog Candies
However, your fused Necrozma will remain in its new form for as long as you want.
How strong will Necrozma Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings be?
Very strong, it seems. Because both forms master an exclusive charge attack.
- Dusk Mane masters the Steel move Steel Beam, which deals 135 damage in trainer battles and 230 damage in gyms and raids.
- Dawn Wings, on the other hand, learns the Ghost move Shadow Beam, which also deals 135 damage in trainer battles, as well as 230 in raids and gyms.
More details about the attacks have already been revealed by a datamining by the Pokeminers, which was also shared in the Pokémon GO subreddit “TheSilphRoad” (via reddit). Based on this, Dusk Mane with its new attack is expected to take the top spot among steel attackers in raids and surpass Metagross.
Dawn Wings is expected to also secure a top spot among ghost attackers, but will likely be surpassed by Mega Gengar. Important: Here it remains to be seen if the stats from the datamining will also hold up at the official release.
In the PvP battle league, both monsters are likely to be among the top options in the Master League – however, it remains to be seen how fast the attacks are.
Overall, Necrozma is set to become an extremely powerful monster thanks to its fusion forms, making it a fitting successor to the strong Mega Rayquaza from the GO Fest 2023. However, the GO Fest is still a few weeks away, and the global GO Fest is still just under two months away. Accordingly, there are still opportunities to catch other strong Pokémon beforehand.
