The Environment Week 2023 starts in Pokémon GO and brings new Pokémon with it. Frubberl and its two evolutions are waiting for you. In addition, new Shinies will be shown here.
When does the event run? The Environment Week starts on Thursday, April 20th, at 10:00 AM local time. It will be active until Wednesday, April 26th, at 8:00 PM local time. During the event, you can expect changed wilderness spawns, eggs, event bonuses, new Pokémon, and also new Shinies.

Environment Week: Pokémon, Shinies, Eggs, Bonuses
New Pokémon and Shinies: For those of you who collect, the event can be really worthwhile. Because the new Pokémon Frubberl celebrates its release in Pokémon GO for the Environment Week 2023. The Pokémon originates from the seventh game generation and belongs to the Grass type.
It has two evolutions: Frubaila and Fruyal. The evolution to Frubaila costs 25 candies, and evolving to Fruyal costs you 100 candies.
Another incentive for collectors is the new shiny versions of a Pokémon: Rotomurf can be caught as a Shiny for the first time during the event. We will show you how the Pokémon and its evolution Stalobor look in comparison as Shiny in the graphic:
Pokémon in the wild: In the wilderness, during the event, you have a greater chance of encountering the following Pokémon (Pokémon marked with a * can also be encountered as Shiny):
- Squirtle*
- Clamperl*
- Wailmer*
- Rotomurf*
- Waumboll*
- Lilminip
- Lithomith*
- Tarnpignon*
- Froxy
- With a bit more luck, you can also find Larvitar*, Bithora* and Frubberl
7-km eggs: If you receive 7-km eggs during the event, they can hatch into the Pokémon Kikugi*, Rotomurf* or Frubberl. Note: An earlier version of Niantic’s announcement stated that these Pokémon would hatch from 2-km eggs. This has now been corrected to 7-km eggs.
Shop: If you want to dress your avatar according to the new Pokémon Frubberl and its evolutions, you can do so with a hat, shirt, and boots.
What bonuses are there?
- If you reach the “Hyper Buddy” level with your buddy Pokémon, it will bring you souvenirs more often
- If you reach the “Super Buddy” level or higher with your buddy Pokémon, it will bring you gifts more often, which often contain berries. With a chance for Silver Pinap Berries
- After feeding, your buddy Pokémon will accompany you longer
- The distance to earn hearts with your buddy Pokémon is halved
- Special research with Shaymin
The distance to earn candies with your buddy Pokémon is halved
Researches: As rewards for selected field research, you will receive encounters with Rotomurf*. A timed research will give you items and encounters with Rotomurf*, Unratütox* and Frubberl.
In the coming days, there will be an event on the weekend and a final spotlight hour in April. A Community Day Classic will also start for you.
