The monster of the next Community Day in Pokémon GO has been announced. And this could be a nice addition to some trainers’ teams.
The Community Day is one of the most popular events in Pokémon GO. It takes place every month in the regular format and sometimes additionally in the Classic variant. During the event, a monster appears in large numbers for 3 hours and is accompanied by strong bonuses like an increased Shiny chance.
Now the monster for the Community Day in March 2026 has been teased. It is a starter monster that could take a good place in some teams, and you can also get it here for the first time as a Shiny.

What kind of monster is it? So far, there has been no official announcement regarding the monster. However, a short teaser video on X has been released. Here you see the Pokémon running through the video from left to right.
It is clearly recognizable that it is Hopplo, the starter monster of the Fire type from Pokémon Sword and Shield. In January 2026, there was already a Community Day with Chimpep, the Grass starter from this generation.
Hopplo can first evolve into Kickerlo and then into Liberlo.
How useful is the monster? Typically, starter Pokémon of the Fire type receive the exclusive move Lohekanonade during a Community Day. This can represent a strong damage boost and is the best Fire move that a monster can learn.
For Liberlo, this move should also provide a strong boost and elevate the monster on the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO. If you don’t have strong legendary or Mega monsters of the Fire type yet, then Liberlo could certainly enhance your team.
Additionally, during the Community Day you will have a good chance of getting a good specimen due to the high number of spawns and receiving plenty of the right candies.
Liberlo already has a Dynamax form in the game, which you can receive again from time to time if you don’t already have it. In Dynamax battles, there are stronger alternatives with Liberlo’s Gigantamax form and Charizard.
If you haven’t obtained these Gigantamax attackers yet, Dynamax-Liberlo can also be a good addition to your team here. And if you have the Gigantamax form, the event’s candies could also be useful for you.
As a collector, you can also benefit from the event. During the event, Hopplo will be available as a Shiny for the first time in the game. With the increased chance, it’s not a major issue to get one or more specimens directly.
When will the Community Day take place? When exactly the Community Day will take place is not yet known. Only March as a month is currently known. Since all Community Days announced for the current season have already occurred and the season ends on March 3, 2026, it will likely take place after March 3, 2026.
You will have to wait a bit longer until the Community Day with Hopplo. However, there are still various contents such as events, raids, and spotlight hours in the game until then.
